Music. Music, this page is all about music.
Personally I’ve had a funny journey with music. My tastes (according to my peers) on music is strange. I started off liking what my Mum and Dad liked, then finding out what my friends liked, then I just settled for a few select songs from a few select bands. Then maybe after that I found out most of my favourite songs were from one band: Queen. I loved Queen for a long time before opening my horizons a bit more. But the time I found out about my ‘ear’ for Classical or Orchestral (take your pick) was when I started noticing the scores for movies, staring with the obvious: Star Wars. Everyone knows the theme for Star Wars, The Imperial March, and the music from the burning scene at the end of The Return of The Jedi. But I notice it ALL. Such as: what piece plays when a Star Destroyer is orbiting Hoth waiting to lunch their invasion force? It’s a motif of The Imperial March, played at a higher pitch, and a little faster, also possibly the first time we (well, those who were around when it came out) heard it. But I started noticing it a lot and a lot and a lot more! It’s gotten to the point where I notice every piece for every Television show or Movie, and I get bewildered by the fact no-one (mostly my parents) else notices it, I’d say something like: “That’s a very sad and mournful Violin piece” and I’d get an inquisitive look and an answer a long the lines of “What?”. My response would be: “Wait listen, don’t you think that’s nice? It complements the scene beautifully!” OK I don’t normally talk like that, but that is a perfect example of what happens. So I just want to put this up here for people to talk about their favourite music (be it Rock, Orchestral, Metal, Pop, Classical…) or talk about your favourite singer song writer (composer, rapper…), for the hell of it.
